BOI, universities, other government agencies, increased efforts to develop green metals

In collaboration with various government agencies, academics, industry stakeholders, associations and organizations, the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) held Trade and Industry Development (TID) Discussions on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 on the green metals sector, during which the participants converged to discuss the challenges and enormous opportunities in the processing of the country’s green metals, in particular nickel, copper and cobalt.

During the discussion, participants agreed to work together to further advance mineral processing in the country, particularly for clean energy technologies and electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing.
