Services Australia is moving to Colac with the relocation of the service center from its current Bromfield Street location to newly refurbished premises at 13 Connor Street from Monday 1 August 2022.
Government Services Minister Bill Shorten said bringing the two services together under one roof would make it easier for Colac residents to access government support.
“Colac residents will have one destination if they need to access government services,” said Minister Shorten.
“It brings all staff and departments together so that Colac residents can have a seamless experience while visiting.”
The Connor Street site was previously occupied by the National Disability Insurance Agency, but the two agencies will now share the new site.
“The new service center will offer a contemporary layout and improved facilities to make it easier for customers to access the support they need,” said Minister Shorten.
“It is important to note that the Colac team is interested in hearing customer feedback on the new service experience available at the center.
People can continue to make appointments with Centrelink if they want to be sure of what time they can speak with a member of staff in person or over the phone.
“Services Australia is also offering digital coaching appointments for people who want additional support to use Service Australia’s digital services,” said Minister Shorten.
To book an appointment, customers can drop by the center or call their regular payline.
The Colac Service Center at 13 Connor Street will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
