MP for Bibiani provides toilets to four government agencies
The MP for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, Mr. Alfred Obeng-Boateng has ordered toilets worth GHC 65,000.00 for four government agencies in Bibiani.
The beneficiaries were the Audit Service, the National Commission for Civic Education, the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice and the National Service Secretariat.
In a short ceremony handing over the keys to the agencies, the MP who financed the facilities, expressed his gratitude to God and to the contractor for the good work done, he was satisfied with the quality of the work and the level of entrepreneur’s efficiency.
Mr. Obeng-Boateng however deplored the situation where some elected officials such as deputies, members of the Assembly and the Head of State did not spend.
He said the inability of these officers to access sufficient funds from government coffers was hampering progress and development and called for the revision of the 1992 constitution to address some of these issues.
Mr. Obeng-Boateng said that many of the projects he has funded in the constituency have focused on human resource development and that human resources are the greatest asset on planet Earth, hence “his interest in touch lives by paying for hospital bills, tuition, apprenticeship programs, employment opportunities, among others”.
He urged the beneficiaries of the facility to maintain them to prolong its lifespan.
Mr. Peter Kumi, Head of Audit Department of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, expressed deep appreciation to the MP for his gesture and pleaded with him to streamline things so that the Community Water Agency and Bibiani’s sanitation works efficiently.
The MP, since taking office, has toured all ministries and government agencies in Bibiani, the municipal capital, to introduce himself to them and get first-hand information on their activities and challenges.
It was during these rounds that the beneficiary organizations requested sanitary facilities.
