PLGU Lanao del Sur opens the Government Services Caravan

CITY OF MARAWI, Lanao del Sur (PIA) – The provincial government opened a week-long government service caravan at the Provincial Capitol on Monday, July 11, as part of the 63rd celebration of Araw ng Lanao del Sur.

The caravan aims to showcase the programs, projects and activities of various government agencies across the province, as well as provide essential government services in one place.

“Gusto namin na mas malapit ang government services [we want government services to be closer] to the people,” said Azrifa Mamutuk, the provincial government focal person for the caravan.

She said 28 line agencies from the national government, Bangsamoro government and provincial government are participating in the caravan.

These include the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), Land Transport Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB ), National Commission for Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), National Housing Authority (NHA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG), Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Land Reform (MAFAR), Ministry of Trade and Investment and Tourism (MTIT) , Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Ministry of Health (MOH), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Provincial Integrated Health Office (IPHO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) and the office of the provincial agronomist (OPAG).

They are also joined by financial institutions such as Amanah Bank, Philippine National Bank and Landbank, as well as agencies offering legal services such as the Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Lanao del Sur Chapter, the Integrated Shari’ah Bar of the Philippines and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, among others.

Apart from government services, the caravan also offers a Food Bazarre where food vendors and foodies gather to sample varieties of international and local delicacies at very affordable prices while enjoying live musical performances from local talent.
