Hundreds of residents of Barangay Dahile in Mabinay, Negros Oriental are being targeted for government aid during a ‘Barangayanihan’ (Bayanihan sa Barangay) activity on Friday.

Lt. Col. Roland Lavisto, head of the Community Affairs and Police Development Unit (PCADU) of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO), said the company was started by NOPPO in cooperation with the local government unit of Mabinay led by Mayor Ernesto. Uh.

“We have already taken up the Barangayanihan several times after the pandemic, the last of which was held in Barangay Candabong, Manjuyod, as part of one of our strategies to contribute to the pan-national approach in partnership with the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC),” Lavisto said in a mix of English and Cebuano.

He said that it was the mayor of Mabinay who had requested that the “Barangayanihan” take place in the village of Dahile.

The government agencies that are expected to participate in the activity are Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Land Reform, Philippine News Agency, Philippine Army, and Bureau of Fire Protection, among others. .

Lavisto said the provincial agriculture office, veterinary office, health office and other local government departments were also asked to participate and provide assistance and services, such as the distribution of seedlings. and fertilizers, and vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Beneficiaries will also receive “loot bags” containing rice, sardines, noodles and liniment, he added. (NAP)
